WEEK 3 DILEMMAS: WIDE RECEIVER

WEEK 3 DILEMMA: WIDE RECEIVER Mario Manninham or Johnny Knox?

Hmmm?

Of the 2 defenses those WR's are facing, I would have to say Seattle has the best passing defense of them - not giving up a single receiving touchdown YTD not to mention they are 2nd in fewest passing yards allowed. So for me, that would give Mario Manningham the edge over Johnny Knox So far this season, Manningham is 4th among all receivers and Knox is 16th.

When you consider that a touchdown and 47 yards is all that separates that gap, it comes down to who has the better match-up since both are capable of big plays.

Although in my QB dilemma I opted for Eli Manning vs Carolina I also see the possibility of NY taking an early lead and running on Carolina for a majority of the game.

On the other hand, I think Seattle and Chicago will be a high scoring game with 35+ passing attempts by each team. I don't see Seattle being able to run the ball against Chicago. With that said, I do think Knox will get more opportunities for receptions and I feel pretty good about him finding the end zone at least once on Sunday.

So there it is,

Johnny Knox @ Seattle

or

Mario Manningham @ Tampa Bay

My pick would be Knox vs Seattle in this DILEMMA. What say all of you?

RB toss up of the Week

RB toss up of the Week

With Marion Barber out for Dallas and very possibly Brian Westbrook out for the Eagles, another dilemma has emerged on the Fantasy Football field.  Which back-up RB would you play on Sunday if you had this situation.

LeSean McCoy vs Kansas City

or

Felix Jones vs Carolina

Both run defenses are a bit suspect and I truly expect both games to be aerial assualts.  I really am on the fence with this one and feel either one would be a decent choice.  But for the sake of argument, if I had to pick - I would pick McCoy.

What do you fellow Fantasy Football guru's think about think about this one?

WEEK 3 DILEMMA: QUARTERBACK

It's early in the season and there are still many questions regarding highly drafted players and their performance thus far.  With that said, we have to agree that match-ups are a critical part of a decision to Start/Sit a given player.

Looking at week 3, I see a difficult (in my world) decision based on match-ups and YTD performance. I know I could probably go on for another 1000 words evoking my thoughts on the pros and cons of each - but I will try yo keep it shorter than that.

Here is the choice for week 3:

Tony Romo vs Carolina

or

Eli Manning @ Tampa Bay

My personal feeling is to play Manning in this scenario putting most of the basis on how the defenses they are facing have performed and the looks of each teams offensive scheme so far this year.

My reason for choosing Eli is:

Tampa and Carolina have been a wash YTD on rushing yards with both averaging about 168 yds per game.  The biggest difference I see is that the Panther secondary has only given up 302 yards (151 avg per game) to Tampa's 564 - nearly 130 yards per game more.

Carolina has faced teams that can both pass and run (Eagles/Falcons) which Dallas has proven it can do.

Tampa has faced Dallas (1st in rushing yds NFL) and Buffalo (6th in the NFL). Both of these teams (Dallas/Buffalo) have only 100 yds more thru the air than on the ground.

The New york Giants have 578 yds passing and 200 yds rushing YTD.  They are a passing team.

I look to see Eli and the Giants exploit the Tampa Bay weak secondary on Sunday.

Your reply, input and thoughts are welcome and encouraged.  I hope you all have a great week IRL and Fantasy Football.
